West Quay Lowry
Whatever fresh stimulus I might find elsewhere, I always return to Salford Quays, just minutes from where I live. This vibrant and constantly changing environment invigorates me every time I visit. Familiar though it now is, I expect to discover and record new facets each time. For me, part of its appeal resides in its many maritime references and form. These constantly remind me of the many sketching expeditions I made to this site in student days while it was still Salford Docks, and of all my work stimulated by the whole length of the Ship Canal while it was still being used by cargo ships.
